High-Performance TN3270E Connectivity

What is TN3270E for VSE?

TN3270E servers support both TN3270 and TN3270E terminal sessions and TN3270E printer sessions.

Why do I need TN3270E for VSE?

TN3270E for VSE has two TN3270E servers. The VTAM based TN3270E server uses VTAM macros and resources to connect to VTAM applications (like CICS). The non-VTAM TN3270E server pretends to be VTAM to selected applications. These applications think they are talking to VTAM but are actually talking to our TN3270E server. This eliminates VTAM from the picture for these applications. You can still run VTAM for other applications if you need to.

What are Customers saying?

"We're really pleased with the TN3270E server. Support has been terrific. Performance is incredible. Printing is very fast. Terminal response time is fantastic. Best of all, CPU overhead of the TN3270E server is very low." - Steve Dunnavant, The Lane Company

"TN3270E is so easy to install and use. I create the JCL, submit the JCL and I am up and running. There is nothing to define to TCP/IP for VSE." - Auvery Hayes, ISB Company, LLC

What are some of the Features and Benefits?

Know who's connected to your Host! Assigning LU names to users is easy with TN3270E. The user specifies it when they create a session, making it easy for you to identify who is connected to your Host.

Print to any network-attached Printer! Using a TN3270E printer client you can use any VSE/ESA VTAM print product to print CICS and POWER output to any network attached printer.

TN3270E for VSE is an external TCP/IP application! This means that both TN3270E servers run completely outside of the TCP/IP partition. Running external to the TCP/IP partition provides greater performance, vastly improved stability and better execution control.

Eliminate VTAM Overhead for some applications! For maximum flexibility and performance TN3270E for VSE provides two TN3270E servers. One server uses standard VTAM macros and facilities to communicate with applications and the other server appears to be VTAM to applications. Eliminating VTAM dramatically reduces CPU overhead.

Installation and setup is a snap! Setting up the TN3270E servers is very simple. A few simple JCL and control commands and your TN3270E server is up and running.
